This was a pleasant surprise to all Yakuza fans as both Judgement games had been on consoles but were not on PC. Judgment and Lost Judgement PC ports have arrived on PC via Steam as the account tweeted. With this, the RGG Summit event ended, but we were treated to another surprise by Sega‘s official Japanese account. It currently has no specific release date but is set to arrive in 2023, on PS5/PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC through the Windows Store and Steam. Titled Like A Dragon Gaiden, it takes place after Yakuza 6, and shows Kiryu’s story and perspective following up to Yakuza/Like A Dragon 8. This time, it’s an action RPG like the previous games in the Yakuza series, and Kiryu is the protagonist. Yakuza 8 is currently set for release in 2024 on PS5/PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC through the Windows Store and Steam.Īs if all this wasn’t enough, RGG Summit had another surprising reveal up its sleeves. Moreover, the series will be a traditional RPG combat game yet again like the previous game, and Kiryu will have his own party. This is the first time that a game in the series will have two protagonists. Previously, Yakuza games have had multiple protagonists but always four or more. It has been announced that the previous game’s protagonist, Ichiban, AND Kiryu will be the playable characters and protagonists in this title. However, this was not the only surprising thing about it. Like A Dragon: Ishin is currently planned for release on PS5/ PS4, Xbox Series X/ S, Xbox One, and PC through the Windows Store and Steam, on February 21, 2023.Īnother surprising reveal was Yakuza/Like A Dragon 8, which HAD NOT been hinted at anywhere, and nor did anyone expect. Currently, Team Ninja is also working on another action RPG titled Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which is based on a Chinese novel and takes place during real-life events, but with Chinese folklore and mythology creatures and monsters thrown into the mix. The game was first revealed during last day’s State of Play in which several games were revealed including a first proper reveal of Tekken 8, Pragmata, and Nioh developer Team Ninja’s new action RPG titled Rise of the Ronin, which is currently exclusive to the PS5 on consoles but will launch on Windows. You may also use items in the environment as a means to dispatch your enemies. Your main weapon is a katana, although you can also use your fists, and will also have access to very old and basic firearms. Other things of note are that the remake will have characters/actors returning from the previous games, and songs from previous games will return as well.Īs the game is set in 1860s Japan, the weapons reflect the time period. It is apparently built from the ground up on Unreal Engine 4 and will be the first title the studio has developed on the engine. The game will be released on multiple platforms, and we can expect multiple changes to it same as those in Kiwami 1 and 2. Now, Like A Dragon Ishin game will be remade for modern audiences, same as Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2. There were some fan translation projects but progress on them was very slow as they did not only have to change the whole game but also understand the dialect, which was difficult for translators. Previously, it was only released in Japan and never made it to the West. That is Yakuza Ishin, which will now finally release in the West remade as Like A Dragon Ishin. However, there is one game that fans have been waiting for for many years. Yakuza is one of the premier Japanese video game series, and now with it taking on a turn-based combat spin from now on, the Judgement series will be the premier action series.
